Sketches from the history: first cruise ship in Sibenik

In 1838 king Friedrich August II, ruler of Saxony, made a three week cruise trip on a steamship from Trst to Montenegro and back. On the cruise they stopped to visit many interesting cities and islands – from Brijuni and Pula, across Zadar and Sibenik all the way to Kotor and than back to Rijeka.

The trip began on the May 22nd. They entered Sibenik port on May 25th. After a visit to Sibenik cathedral and a tour around the old city, the king and his suite payed a visit to Krka waterfalls.

What to do in eight hours in Sibenik?

Well, you can explore the historical city center. Sibenik is small and everything is accessible by foot. Or you can choose to see some of the interesting spots in its surroundings.
